7 tips to improve eyes health naturally with exercises and food

With the advances in technology we are using different items at home and office as Television, computers, mobile phone etc along with traditional items of reading and writing as books, magazines, newspapers, office orders etc. Small fonts of technically advanced items, their bright screens and our deep staring for long period’s results in eye fatigue. For eye relaxation, number of exercises and food habits are there; some of these are:-



1. Routine morning exercise
By rubbing palms of both hands, warming them by creating heat and keeping the warm palms on eyes for 5-8 seconds and repeating this process for 5 times per day is very beneficial to keep the eyes and vision in good condition. Rolling /rotating the eyes are another exercise. Roll/ rotate your eyes in circular way, clockwise, anti-clockwise, look up and down as much as possible, look left and right up to the extent you can. Dedicate to this routine regularly.

2. Washing and focusing the eyes
Commit /dedicate to another routine of washing the eyes with fresh and cold water. Try to focus your eyes on one place. Try it with the things about 15-20 feet away. The best thing to focus is the red blinking electric indicator installed on your switch board. Other way is to keep a pen in your hand and focus your eyes on its nib, bring it towards your eyes up to six inches away and then slowly get back. This will improve your vision.

3. Neck exercise at work place
Due to busy schedule at workplace and sitting in one idle position your neck and eyes feel strain. Take small breaks of 5-10 minutes after every hour and rotate your neck clockwise and anti-clockwise, nodding the head left and right, up and down. The blood circulation to eyes and neck increases in this way. Try to keep the brightness level at lowest of your computer, mobile phone, television etc. to reduce eye strain.

4.Healthy diet with green vegetables
Balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals are helpful to keep eye sight in good condition. Leafy green vegetables are rich in vitamin A, C, E and calcium – eat as much as possible per day. One egg per day is beneficial as it contain proteins which are best for your eye lens. Yolk of egg and garlic protects the eyes from diseases. Make sweet potatoes and pumpkin as part of your meal.

5. Carrots, fish and nuts
These items are beneficial for eye retina and protect the eyes from any sun damage. Fish of cold water contains fatty acids.  Nuts, cashew and almonds are rich in omega-3. Pills of fish can be used by the vegetarian people.

6. Grapes and citrus fruits
The sour fruits as grapes are citrus fruits and are very good for eyes as they are rich in vitamin-c. Avoid smoking, junk food and foods rich in sugar. Take a balanced diet having citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables. Avoid overcooking the vegetables as it may result in losing some of their basic qualities.

7. Proper and sufficient sleep
Enough sleep for 8-9 hours is compulsory as it helps in relaxing muscles of overworked eyes. Take regular breaks as already discussed at your work place. Avoid full dependency on eye –glasses; try to keep them off when not required. Try to do much work with unassisted eyes. Eye rest is necessary to keep them in better condition. Insufficient sleeps leads to the vision wreaking.
