In the concurrent time, the nature of all kinds of work is
changed and we face the workload in every field either manual or
technologically advanced. This sometimes led to stress on mind and it remains
stressful for a period of time. Here are some of the tips for mental stress
relief/ relaxation:-
1. Give time to your
hobbies:-
The best way to be mentally strong is giving time to your
hobbies and favorite things you like much to do. The best among them are
playing music instruments, playing any game you like, dances, gardening,
playing with pet or working on your any project. The mind feels relief and
relaxed when you do such of your favorite activities and it becomes afresh for
doing necessary professional works with energy.
2. Physical exercises:-
Remember an old saying “sound mind live s in sound body”.
Care for your body by doing number of physical exercises. The best way is the
ancient Indian Yoga way of exercise. These simple exercises’ are helpful to
keep the body and mind healthy always. Meditation is one of the spiritual way
by which you can feel calm. Morning walk is best way to be with nature and get
fresh air. Take balanced diet, sleep for 8-9 hours, drink 4-5 liters water a
day, and avoid smoking, alcoholism or any other kind of intoxicating drugs. Try
the exercises’ relaxing mind and body.
3. Step-by step:-
The all time great Indian personality Mahatma Gandhi says
“mental stress is not due to heavy load of work but due to its improper
management”. So, manage your work- set your goal – what you want to achieve in
the field of studies, profession, and job or personality development. Make a
stepwise list and dedicate to achieve it with routine. Discipline/ time table
w.e.f. awakening in the morning till sleep is necessary in all parts of life.
It will make you more efficient and take you towards your goal slowly and
steadily. Make strategies to handle different situation of life.
4. Social / community
participation:-
Being a social animal, we can’t live without society. So be
active to participate in social and community activities. Spend time in family,
share thoughts and problems with friends; join any sports group, club or any
other kind of group having good people. Relax and plan for picnic with your
friends and family members. Be active in all kind of functions in your
surroundings, talk with new people. Express your emotions with the supportive
people. The suppression of emotions may lead to depression. Try to help someone
in need, call for help when you are in need.
5. Say “No”:-
The main reason of mental stress during this concurrent time
is hesitation in saying –‘no’. 70-80% of people avoid to say ‘no’ to anyone.
However they want to say but they can’t say. This may be the beginning of
number of kinds of worries. Say ‘no’ to anything, any person, any work you
don’t want. We can’t please all people surrounding us. Say ‘yes’ to yourself,
please yourself, praise yourself and try to understand yourself. Try to live
the life according to your dreams and choices. Don’t compromise by saying ‘yes’
to all. It is better Say ‘no’ to the
commitments you can’t fulfill then to face guilty at failure.
